Business Development Representative

We are looking for a high energy, hands-on and self-motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) who will have a direct impact on our sales pipeline and revenue growth. The primary responsibility of the BDR is to introduce the Skybox Security value proposition via telephone, email, and social media to decision makers and influencers in order to identify and engage qualified prospects across the region as well as working to maintain momentum within early stage sales opportunities.

This role will be integrated with a high performing global sales team and will be an essential part of implementing the go to market strategy targeting top tier end user clients. The role involves reviewing market and lead intelligence then working with the regional sales director and other members of the marketing and sales team to plan an outreach strategy. Following this, the BDR will execute part of the client penetration plan, arranging impactful introductory sessions with the client. The BDR will also research companies and contacts to understand relevant business themes and personas, connect with inbound and outbound campaigns, utilize social media tools, and qualify prospective clients. The BDR works with phone, email and social media to uncover interest and create new meetings that will result in sales opportunities.  A successful BDR adapts their approach to each prospect’s situation using market intelligence. The BDR has excellent organizational, time-management and interpersonal skills. This is an essential role to help glue together account based marketing initiatives across field, channel and demand generation to directly impact the success of the region.

This position reports to Director of Sales and is located at Skybox Corporate HQ in San Jose.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Work with the regional sales director and marketing team to build a penetration strategy for target clients

·         Drive Skybox Security pipeline growth through telephone, email, social media outreach to prospective customers

·         Conduct introductory calls with prospects to qualify leads and educate them on the Skybox Security value proposition

·         Support the target account marketing strategy and successfully connect with target influencers in these organisations

·         Progress sales opportunities with contact follow-up where needed to maintain or re-establish momentum in sales engagements

·         Follow up with generated leads and set appointments to achieve ROI from events and campaigns

·         Generate registrations to events and webinars

·         Manage custom opportunity generation campaigns E.g. arranging client dinners or briefing events

·         Build and manage prospect contact information to continue growing Skybox Security lead development

·         Engage with channel partners on ad-hoc lead development projects

·         Share company product, competitive product and market knowledge with prospects directly or by connecting them to website, webinar, and other resource materials

·         Support members of the marketing and sales team with various analyses to continually improve lead process

·         Use CRM for all sales activities (reporting, customer database maintenance and data entry, correspondence and communications)

·         Use LinkedIn as well as other social media tools as a tool to unlock conversations and identify prospects



·         Five or more years of experience in sales development, lead generation (telemarketing), sales and/or marketing

·         Proven track record achieving measurable lead development goals in an environment where accurate entry and management of lead data in a marketing automation or CRM system was required

·         Ability to work with a high-energy sales team, as a proactive team player with the same spirit and energy level

·         Positive and energetic phone skills, excellent listening skills, strong writing skills

·         A self-starter with a track record of successful, credible lead follow-up and business development with technology and business decision-makers in a B2B environment

·         Proficiency in use of Salesforce is preferred

·         Knowledge of account based marketing applications such as Uberflip, Marketo and Bombora is a plus
