Sales Director, Central Region

We are seeking an inspirational, regional leader who will have a significant impact on our revenue growth. The primary responsibility of the Sales Director, Central Region is to drive the Skybox Security team and business across the region. This role involves leading an existing team of senior sales and pre-sales people in driving enterprise security solutions into Global 5000 and government organizations.

A successful candidate will adapt to change and have the ability and experience to make decisions that will enhance Skybox’s revenue and reputation in the market. The sales team can scale in line with the market and business requirements.


  • Above all else, be accountable for results to meet and exceed sales targets for the region
  • Be responsible for the day to day management of the region as well as its evolution
  • Manage, motivate, retain and develop a first-class team of regional sales and pre-sales people responsible for growing sales within targeted markets
  • Develop and execute territory plans with each regional team to achieve and exceed quota responsibility
  • Serve as a lead contact, responsible for the flow of information to / from executive management
  • Manage and foster effective field working relationships between sales, pre-sales and customer care to ensure a high customer satisfaction rate
  • Represent Skybox as the main spokesperson and figurehead for the region. Evangelize to the market and partners
  • Travel as required to the various sub-regions to assist with field sales activity and regional meetings
  • Work with the VP North America Sales to set regional quotas and development plans for the team
  • Be Skybox Security’s chief sales person in the northeast, actively engaging with customers and channel partners. Lead by example. Able to quickly grasp complex enterprise sales situations and direct winning strategies. Make a noticeable personal contribution to the region’s quota
  • Build and communicate consistent, accurate forecast information weekly, monthly and quarterly, giving the VP North America Sales and SVP Worldwide Sales excellent visibility into the region’s pipeline
  • Develop a Skybox eco-system within the region with key decision makers, influencers and partners
  • Within the first 90 days, conduct a detailed assessment of our current business in the region including a review our customers, partners, team, go-to-market activities and the associated market opportunity
  • From this, gain buy in from the business and develop a regional territory business plan, incorporating a sales, marketing and channel plan with a 2-3 year vision and yearly execution milestones
  • Assist in investment planning for the region
  • Continue to build and elevate the caliber of the team. Attract and retain top-tier talent throughout the regional organization and provide the appropriate training, support, and mentoring
  • Work closely with the Americas channel team to evolve the current 2 Tier channel both in terms of SIs, VARs and distributors to drive maximum value and incremental pipeline growth for the region
  • Make a telling contribution to the overall business. As well as delivering strong commercial results, the candidate will actively participate in all areas of the business and will be a key part of the sales motion for the region establishing and maintaining key senior level client and channel relationships as well as providing effective leadership and oversight in respect to key clients and opportunities



  • Achieves assigned sales quota in designated region
  • Effective hiring against hiring plan
  • Responsible for the development of all sales activities in assigned markets
  • Staffs, directs, and drives strong sales execution within the sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of quota, territory growth, and forecasting accuracy
  • Responsible for effective integration of sales, marketing and channel strategies for the region and their implementation
  • Establishes plans and strategies to develop and to expand the customer base in the region and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Evolves and develops the team 
  • Effectively conducts regular public speaking and press engagements




  • Must have a strong, proven personal reputation in the market and region
  • Minimum five years of managing the Northeast, managing a team of at least 5 enterprise sales people
  • Candidate must have 6-10 years outside sales experience with at least 3 years of sales experience in the Enterprise Information Security Management / Network Security Management / Cyber Security domain
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales objectives
  • Must have a strong network of customers, partners and business associates
  • Large and small company background
  • Must have good 2-tier channel know-how and knowledge for the region
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • Proven track record in significant over-quota achievement and demonstrated career stability
  • Experience in developing and closing 7 figure deals
  • Experience in scaling a fast growth business in a similar phase of growth to Skybox Security
  • Must know how to work effectively with clients at C-level and at senior levels within partners
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills to executives and to individual contributors
  • Strong knowledge or CRM systems – preferred
  • Track record of good speaking at Industry events
  • Entrepreneurial and creative business approach
  • Ability to influence and direct co-workers who are not direct reports
  • Strong but balanced personality with high integrity, ability to self analyze and self motivate and an engaging and fun person to be around.

Additional Qualifications:

  • This position requires regular travel across the region – up to 50% at times as well as trips to sales events and management meetings.
